Middle School Summer Reading Initiative

Cobb County Schools and the Cobb County Public Library System are please to announce a middle school summer reading collaboration.  The theme is "Beneath the Surface" and all related files as well as a tutorial video are located on Ed Canvas. EdCanvas is best viewed with Mozilla Firefox and/or Google Chrome.

5/13/13 This Week in the Media Center...

All student library books are now overdue.  Please turn your library books into the media center as soon as possible.

At the final K.L.U.B. Cafe, Silver, Gold & Platinum Levels enjoyed a variety of slushies on the media center patio in celebration of a great year of reading.

 

5/6/13 This Week in the Media Center

The last day to check out books from the library was Friday, May 3rd.

All books are due back to the media center Friday, May 10th.  Students turning in books this week will receive a piece of candy for each book as a thank you for being on time with their returns this year.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week.  Nominate your favorite teacher for a prize.  Entry forms are available on the media center bulletin board outside the cafeteria.  Turn the completed form into the media center by Thursday, May 9th.

The last day to join K.L.U.B. or move levels is Tuesday, May 14th.  The final K.L.U.B. Cafe will be held next week.  Silver Level Cafe is on Wednesday, May 15th and Gold/Platinum Levels are on Thursday, May 16th.  Slushies will be served during lunch period on the media center patio.

Rising 6th Grade Open House, Thursday, May 2nd - Download Flyer for rising 6th

K.L.U.B. students enjoyed the final after school party of the year with a DJ dance, video games, and lots of treats.  There will be one more K.L.U.B. Cafe on Wednesday, May 15th for Silver level and Thursday, May 16th for Gold and Platinum levels.  The last day to move levels will be Tuesday, May 14th.  We will have slushies on the patio during the lunch period for this cafe.

The last day to check out books from the library is Friday, May 3rd and all books back to the media center on Friday, May 10th.

We have taken advantage of the CRCT testing schedule to conduct our annual inventory.

4/15/13 This Week in the Media Center...

8th grade social studies studies students used Cobb Virtual Library to research a variety of topics concerning World War II.  8th grade science students used OAS and Skills Tutor to reivew for the CRCT's.  7th grade language arts students chose books to read.

 

The final K.L.U.B. party for this year will be a DJ Dance Party for all levels with games availabe for Gold and Platinum levels.  Join us on Tuesday, April 30th to celebrate a great year of reading.  The last day to join K.L.U.B, or move levels is Wednesday, April 24th.  Turn in your summaries online or in the media center.

4/1/13 - No Foolin' - The Scholastic Book Fair is This Week in the Media Center!!

The book fair will continue throughout the week with hours on Monday-Thursday from 8:15-4:15 and on Friday from 8:15 until 12:00.  We hope to see you there for some great new books, a trivia contest with prize drawings, and an opportunity to support Palmer students and K.L.U.B. with shopping and donations.  Thank you!  For those of you who cannot join us at Palmer for the book fair, please check out our Online Book Fair here.
