Mr. Joseph Auriemma
Welcome to my blog! It's truly a pleasure to be teaching at Palmer Middle School and I'm excited about the new school year. I have been working towards a career in education since 2002 and I am transitioning from industry through the "TeachGeorgia" program. I love science and hope to share what I've learned and experienced over the last 15 years with my students.
I live in Canton with my wife and my 3 daughters. I have lived in the Atlanta Metropolitan area for approximately 14 years. I am originally from Florida (Tampa Bay area) and went to Pinellas Park High School in Pinellas Park, Florida. After High School, I moved to Gainesville and attended Santa Fe Community College and The University of Florida for 3 years. I was also a member of "The Pride of the Sunshine", University of Florida Fightin' Gator Marching Band for Steve Spurrier's first 2 seasons as Head Coach. GO GATORS!!!!
After moving to Georgia, I attended Kennesaw State University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology in December, 1996. After graduation, I worked for CryoLife, Inc. in Kennesaw for approximately 8 1/2 years. I worked both as a Donor Screening Supervisor and in the company's Regulatory Affairs Department. During that time, I earned a Master's of Science in Quality Assurance from Southern Polytechnic State University. After CryoLife, I worked at CIBA Vision Corporation in Duluth. I was employed as part of their Quality Assurance department.
