Parents, I need your help.

Our holiday chorus concert is Tuesday, December 6th at 7:00 PM in the Palmer Theater.  This is the only concert this year that will include all three grade level choirs.  We have an excellent problem.  We are too big for the theater!  Since there are over 250 students in choir this year, there will not be room for the children to sit down. I feel strongly that the students should be able to see each other perform. This is the best learning experience for them.  My solution is to have the 7th and 8th graders process in for the concert.  So, here's where you come in....

1. Please have all audience members in theater chairs before the concert begins at 7:00.  Absolutley  noone will be allowed to stand in the back.  Parents or younger siblings could cause a dangerous situation for my students if they are in the aisles (in the way.)

2. I am seeking the help of parent volunteers to assist me onstage and in the hallway before the concert begins. Please email me if you are available to help me from 6:30 - 7:00 on Tuesday night.  You will not miss the concert. I promise!

As always, thank you for sharing your children with me.  This will be a magnificent concert. I can't wait!

Honoring our Veterans

Palmer's 7th and 8th grade choruses will perform at a community Veteran's Day Celebration to be held at Wildwood Baptist Church on Thursday, November 10th at 7:00 PM. We invite all community veterans and families to join us so that we may honor you.  Chorus students who are able to perform that evening should report to the church sanctuary at 6:30 PM wearing full concert uniform.  It's going to be a great evening of patriotic songs and other great music.  I hope that you will all join us!

Real Men Can Sing!

Thursday, September 29th, Palmer hosted the Middle Men Choral Workshop.  Palmer boys who are involved in chorus were joined by the men from Kell Chorus and North Cobb Chorus to work with guest clinician Doyle Register.  The men learned how the voice changes and how to sing successfully through that change.  After an hour of singing, the guys devoured 30 large pizzas and had a great time together.  Our  middle school guys have a lot to look forward to in high school chorus!

KISS Candle Fundraiser

Candle
The chorus students were presented with the opportunity to sell KISS Candles as a fundraising project today.  I enjoy several of these candles throughout my home and am impressed by the high quality of this product.  KISS Candle Co. gives Palmer's Chorus 50% of the sales, which is higher than any other company I have found.  The best part is that this is a local company.  In this tough economy, I am proud that we are supporting local jobs in the Atlanta area.  I appreciate your support of this fundraiser!

  • Please ask your customers to make the checks payable to the student's guardian.  We then ask that each family submit ONE check made payable to Palmer Middle School for the entire amount of the order.  This will enable our bookkeeper to process the checks more quickly.
  • Order forms and money are due Friday, October 14th.

Prizes are as follows:

10 items - win the Kiss Bag
20 items - win the Gummy Bears and the Kiss Bag.
30 items - win a $25 gift card and Gummy Bears and the Kiss Bag.
60 items - win a $100 gift card and a $25 gift card and Gummy Bears and the Kiss Bag.
100 items - win the Big Choice(choose between a Wii Game System, PS3 Game System, XBOX 360 Game System or an iPad 2) and a $100 gift card and a $25 gift card and Gummy Bears and the Kiss Bag.

Instructions for ordering online (from Mr. Vogel):

We have the ability to process on-line orders by visiting our Web Site at http://www.kisscandleco.com .  To receive ordering credit for individuals participating in a fund-raiser there are instructions that must be followed.
For on-line fund raiser orders:
While checking out on-line, users must indicate in the "Instructions to Merchant(Seller)" field that they are both ordering on behalf of Palmer MS Chorus and on behalf of the student’s name for which they are ordering.
Also, there is a flat rate shipping cost of $5 to any one location within the Continental U.S. regardless of the order size.
Other than these instructions, ordering is the same as with any other Kiss Candle on-line purchase.  Please let us know if you have any additional questions and thank you for the support of the Palmer MS Chorus and for your interest in Kiss Candles!
Thanks!
