Choral Notes
The Holiday season was a huge success for the Palmer Choruses!
The Holiday Choral Concert was Tuesday, December 12th at 7:00 PM in the Palmer Theater. 6th graders showed improvement by floating through "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and then made us all laugh with "Cold and Fugue Season." 7th and 8th graders proved their musical independence by performing one piece per class. This requires more concentration and skill than singing combined. The voices are much more exposed in a group of 30 and each member is highly valuable. Bravo for having such courage and doing a superb job! All choruses were honored as the audience rose to their feet at the end of our grand finale "Garland of Carols." On behalf of all the students, thank you for your incredible support!
In appreciation for being Partners in Education, the 6th grade chorus performed at Publix on Bells Ferry, Waffle House on Wade Green/ Busbee, and Hoopinsocker Chiropractic on Monday, December 18th.
In an effort to spread holiday cheer, the 7th grade chorus performed at Dr. Gerri Ray's home on Tuesday, December 19th. Dr. Ray, principal of Palmer Middle School, greatly misses the students during her battle with cancer and was overwhelmed to see and hear the students sing. The 7th grade chorus also performed at Wellington Place Assisted Living facility and Texas Roadhouse.
On Wednesday, December 20th, the 8th grade chorus and selected members of the 7th grade chorus performed at The Oaks Assisted Living facility. With more than 90 students attending this field trip, it is a tribute to their maturity to sing so well and bless others with their spirit of giving.
All Palmer Chorus students performed at grade level assemblies on Thursday, December 21st in the Palmer Theater. What a perfect ending to a great semester!
