This week we will be finishing our SuperSize me lesson. Be sure to have your journal inorder and ready to turn in at the end of the movie. We will be heading into a new topic either Tuesday or Wednesday. I will have to see how far Mr. Martin has gotten with the CPR unit. We may have to start on Alcohol, Tobacco and drugs instead of CPR. I will conform this with you on Monday. Hope you had a well rested weekend.

This week has an historic amazing blog fact. Julius Caesar and Napoleon Bonaparte both suffered from epilepsy. Remember to keep up with these in your agenda for extra credit tickets! We will be discussing how to complete an article review on Monday. Your first one of these will be due next monday on nutrition. As we start our unit on nutrition this week, you can plan on two speakers coming to visit us. One this week and one next week. We will also be checking out some Bill Nye on Digestion. MyPyramid.gov is a resource I will be pulling material from and I highly advise you to visit it. It has great information for teens and even has some games to play. Be on the lookout for a snack that you like to eat so that you can keep the nutritional label off of it. We will be doing a homework assignment with one of these this week as well. Hope you all had a well rested weekend.

This week we will be finishing up with mental health and heading into our unit of violence prevention and first aid. Your auto-bio poems are due on Monday and I am looking forward to seeing those. Remember that your article reviews are due on Friday. You must have a HGD permission form on file with me to be presesnt during that unit. These are due on Monday as well. See me if you need an additional copy. Hidden blog messages can earn you homerun tickets but will not be as easy to find as this first one. Every year, kids in North America spend close to half a billion dollars on chewing gum! I hope you have a great week and do not forget that Strikes start this week! Be on your best behavior.

Hello my new 6th grade class. I hope you had a fantastic winter break and have enjoyed our first week together. On Monday you will all be presenting your "heads". Your first project was to take your face portrait and make it a collage of all the unique and wonderful things about you. This week we will also be looking at decision making, goal setting, peer pressure and stress. All of these things fall under our mental health topic. I will be explaining how to do your article reviews this week as well. That will be your first homework assignment this week and it will be due on Friday.
