We will be finishing ATOD this week and you will need to complete your anti drug advertisment. I am really looking forward to seeing those. Your CPR cards are in and if you are wanting to retake the test for certification you must attend a review session with me before I will allow you to retake the test. We will discuss what you did wrong and make sure you uderstand the material. Diseases are our next unit before we head into human growth and development. Remember this is permission based and I need to have that permission in writing. You can access that letter from my blog. It is the last page of my syllabus for your class in the section marked syllabus off the main page of this blog. It takes 2,354 tissues to stop a bullet. Have a great day. This week will be a normal week for you. We will be working on CPR all week long and your next article review will not be due until the Tueday prior to the Thanksgiving break. It will be over safety. Monday we will review the Checking the VIctim skill and discuss the CCC and ABC rules again. We will also look closer at the Good Samaritan Law which protects you as a responder. Tigers have striped skin, not just striped fur. Tuesday we will review conscious choking. Wednesday we will be starting to work with manekins we will continue on with skills through the rest of the week. On Nov. 19th and 20th we will review all skills and finish our study guides to prepare you for the written test we will have when we return to school on the 26th. Remember to bring your cheat sheet to class everyday!!

Welcome bacak to a new week! We are continuing on with our Nutrition topic. You will have an article review over any topic under nutrition due on Friday. This will include eating disrders as well as fast food and dieting articles. Please make sure you find a news article. Check with me if you are unsure about your article and rememer that you must attach a copy of your article with your review in order for me to be able to grade it. Monday - Wednesday we will be watching SuperSize Me and you will be keeping a journal of all that Morgan goes through on this "McDiet". Thursday your journal, concept map and vocabulary will all need to be stapled together and turned in. We will discuss our nutritional resources that day and prepare for our new topic on Friday which will be CPR. The lion's costume from the wizard of oz was made from real lions fur. Have a fantastic week and I hope you are all doing great. Try to stay away from too many treats. Oh and Happy Halloween!

Wow we are picking up speed now and entering week 2! Your signed syllabus and permission letter need to be turned in on Monday of you have not done so already. Also we started our business cards on Friday and they are due on Monday as well. I look forward to seeing how many talented students I have. We will learn how to complete an article review and your first article review will be due on Thursday over any topic under the mental health category. Pinocchio was made out of pine. By the end of the week we will be starting our next topic which will be nutrition. Be sure that you really keep up with your assignments and write down due dates so you do not forget them. Welcome to Health Quarter 2! I am so glad to have you join my class. This will be your best source to get information about our class. My blog's are weekly and each week I hide a secret message within the blog for you to find. If you find it and write it in your agenda, the next class we have you can show me the message and you can receive a homerun ticket which can be good for extra credit or a prize. We will be covering a lot of information in a short period of time. Please keep up with the work. Your first assignment will be to have your syllabus and HGD letter signed and returned to me by Monday Oct. 22. This is very important to the class because the HGD portion of the class is by permission only. Slugs have 4 nostrils. As we touch on each of our 5 topics you will need to complete an article review which we will go over in class. This is an outside of class assignment. Both the syllabus/letter and article review rubric can be found and printed off at your home off of my blog. I will try to post as many class assignments that I have electronic on my blog for those of you who might be absent. I look forward to a great 9 weeks. :)
