Students should begin studying for the pronoun test. It will be given on Wednesday, March 25th. They do have a study guide to review, and they may study any handouts or worksheets on pronouns in their notebooks. The following pages in their workbooks have information on pronouns: 7-12, 107-112, and 121-122. The powerpoint on Friday's blog is also a good review.

We are finishing up our study of pronouns and will be taking a pronoun test next Wednesday, March 25th. The students may begin preparing for the test by reviewing any notes about pronouns posted on the blog previously, any worksheets or workbook pages that we have completed, handout pages 19 (pronoun tip sheet) and 20 (reflexive pronouns) in their notebooks, and the notes they took in class. We will be completing a study guide in class on Monday. They may also review the following powerpoint Download Pronoun Powerpoint Review .

Today the students were introduced to the indefinite pronouns. They should know an indefinite pronoun does not refer to a specific person, place, or thing, or idea. Here are some of the indefinite pronouns:
Singular indefinite pronouns: another, anybody, anyone, anything, each, everybody, everyone, everything, nobody, no one, nothing, one, somebody, something, someone
Plural indefinite pronouns: both, few, many, several
May be either singular or plural: all, any, none, some

Homework: Complete Exercise 1 and Exercise 2 on page 109 of your grammar workbook.
Today in class the students learned that object pronouns are used as direct or indirect objects in a sentence. They can also be used after a preposition (the object of a preposition). The object pronouns are me, you, him, her, it, us, and them.

Today the students began a unit on pronouns. We will be learning about personal, possessive, interrogative, demonstrative, reflexive, and indefinite pronouns in class.
