EXTRA HELP

Extra help is available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:15 to 9 am in room 7D2 with Mr. Schott for the CRCT.  I encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity.

Also, just a reminder that your child can obtain extra help for the CRCT by utilizing Skills Tutor or USA test prep.  Students have all this information in their agendas and have been using these two practice sites once a week in class.

Please check Pinnacle for grades as the nine weeks ends on March 18th.  Report cards will be sent home on March 24th.

8th grade parents-students have one project due this nine weeks and it is due on Friday, March 11th.  It is a reserach project on Georgia authors.  Please check with your student for details.

Signed progress reports are due back to me by Friday, Feb. 18th.  Students have highlighted any missing grades and wrote an explanation as to why they received this grade.  Please make sure you review progress reports with your child.

Feb. book reports are due by Feb. 28th

On the bottom the the progress report students have written down a CRCT practice site.  They have their log in and password information in their agendas(it is their lunch number for both).  Students are encouraged to take tests at home and any grade over an 85 should be printed and given to me for extra credit.

WELCOME BACK

I hope everyone enjoyed their time off.

We cleaned out notebooks and established personal and academic goals for this nine weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday.  We completed our VIP sheets as well as our I AM FROM poems.

By January 31st you child will need to read the book they picked on Tuesday and complete their think-tac-toe activities.  These must be turned in by the 31st,

We will spend the next few days talking about the book Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens and completing activities to reinforce these habits.

We will be using a variety of reading sources to reinforce learned reading strategies and the reading process in the next seven weeks.

I will start a CRCT prep contest in the next few weeks and will keep you updated as to what this will look like.

Have a great month.

Please remember we do not have school in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 17th.  We will be reading an article on MLK and do a compare and contrast activity between he and Cesar Chavez.
