Monday, May 12 at Palmer Middle School at 7 PM
All grade levels will be performing!! Students need to be at Palmer at 6 PM to tune and warm-up.

US PLAY
The 7th Grade Orchestra Students were given a permission form for US PLAY last Wednesday (4/16). This fun and exciting event will take place on early Saturday morning on May 17, 2008 from Midnight to 6 AM at US PLAY at Barrett Parkway!!! The cost is $30.00 for the entire event!!
Money and permission forms are due on Wednesday, April 30.
If parents are interested in burning the midnight oil with us crazy kids, you can help us inspect the games for free! Please email me or fill out the back of the permission form if you are able to "inspect" all of the equipment!!!

Spring Concert After School Rehearsals
The Spring Concert will be Monday, May 12 at 7 PM at Palmer. In order to better prepare the 7th and 8th grade students, there will be ONE rehearsal for each grade. We will be joined by other instruments that are needed for the music that the students are performing. The following rehearsals will be from 4:30-5:30 PM.
8th Grade: Tuesday, May 6
7th Grade: Friday, May 9
Both rehearsals will conclude at 5:30 PM for both grade levels.

Disney Parent Meeting
There will be a Disney Parent Meeting on Monday, April 28, beginning at 7 PM.
If you are chaperoning on the Disney trip, there will be a chaperone meeting the same day at 6 PM. We will go over the guidelines and duties of the chaperones at this meeting.
Disney After School Rehearsal
Thursday, April 24 and Friday April, 25 from 4:30-5:30 PM.
This is the ONLY time that the orchestra will be able to rehearse for our performance at Disney!!! Please make sure that you attend both rehearsals!!

Pirates of the Caribbean
Under the Sea
Everyone will need to be practicing the music for Disney prior to our after school rehearsals!!!! We do not want to sight-read on Thursday!

8th Grade Playing Assignment
Students will need to complete 4 parts of the Playing Assignment on Wednesday, April 2.
Under the Sea
1) mm.25-29
2) mm. 30-34
3) mm. 35-39
4) mm. 40-43
There are sign up times in the orchestra room for morning and after school times. Sign up if you do not want to take your playing assignment in class.
Bowings, Rhythm, and Intonation have to be correct in order to Pass!!!

Sign-up sheets will be placed up tomorrow. Please make sure that if you sign up for a time, you are present otherwise you forfeit your time slot.

Congratulations!!
Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade students! Every student did a fantastic job at the Performance Evaluation concert!!! I am very proud of the hard work and effort that every student put forth to do their absolute best! The 7th grade received straight superior ratings, the highest ratings, and the 8th grade received 3 superior ratings and 1 excellent rating!!!
I am looking forward to using the comments and suggestions to help us improve even more on our performance and skills!! Again, I am VERY proud of you all for all of the hard work you put into your music!!!
