8th Grade Disney Parents and Students: DVDs
If you are have any G or PG rated DVDs and would be willing for the music department to borrow them for the trip please send them to me by Wednesday. Please label the outside of the case and the actual DVD with your name on it. I will return it when I see your child next. Thanks!!!!

DISNEY REMINDERS
All students attending the Disney trip must submit their Overnight Field Trip form signed and Medical Form NOTARIZED!
Parent Meeting: Thursday, March 26 at 7 PM in the Theater
Chaperone Meeting: Thursday, March 26 at 6 PM in the Band Room
We are in need of cases of water for all of the students! We want all students to be completely hydrated before we enter the park!! :)

Make sure that you are recording your time down each day. Refer to the handbook for the amount of minutes are required for practicing each week.

Orchestra Room Open
For the week of April 13-17:
Students may come to the orchestra room for practice time by themselves or with a classmate. During this time, they may also use SMART MUSIC to submit their assignments.

Welcome 6th Grade Orchestra Students!!
On Monday, students will be receiving the syllabus for orchestra! Please make sure to ask your child to reveiw it with you!
Starting Tuesday, I will be sizing students for the instruments. Please do not rent an instrument until your child has been measured.
Each student will receive a packet of rental information, as well as a material list specifically for their instrument after they have been sized.
If your child already has an instrument, please have them bring it to school on Tuesday to make sure it is the proper size and is in good playing condition.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me! I am looking forward to teaching your children in orchestra this year!!!!!

SmartMusic
This year students will be using a music program called SMARTMUSIC. It is an innovative tool that will help students improve their intonation and rhythm. In addition, it will help with their practicing skills. Students were demonstrated how the software works yesterday and today in class. SMARTMUSIC will be the focus of the 7th and 8th grade Parent Meeting, Tuesday, August 19 at 7 PM.
