Welcome to Palmer Middle School 6th grade students and parents!!! This is going to be an exciting, yet enthusiastic year for everyone!!!!
All 6th Grade students will be given an opportunity to join orchestra this year! Information will be given to your children on the first week of school!! Students will have the opportunity to learn one of the following instruments in orchestra:
Violin and Viola are very similar. The violin is the highest sounding instrument! It is the smallest too! However, the viola is the one of the most unique instruments in the orchestra. It shares the same characteristics as the violin, but it sounds like a cello!!
Cello:
The cello is the only instrument that you can sit down ALL the time to play! It is the second lowest sounding instrument of the orchestra!
Double Bass:
The double bass is the biggest and lowest instrument of the orchestra! Double Bass players are very important to the sound of the orchestra, as are all of the other instruments!
I will be celebrating my third year at Palmer this year! It has been an honor to teach all of your children! They have been spectacular and are demonstrating great musicianship! I have really enjoyed seeing the orchestra program at Palmer grow musically! Thank you for the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of orchestra students!
If you ever need to reach me, it is better to email me as I get very busy in the school year. Email is much easier for me to respond quickly. I can be reached at: Susan.Goudreau@cobbk12.org
Here is a picture of me and my husband on the left.
A fiddler at heart, I join the orchestra members from Palmer, McKlesky, and Kell High school for their annual Hoedown!
