The end of the year is at hand. I have been letting the kids know about missing assignments for a whil now, but the cut off date is Wednesday, 5/14/08. After that date, I will not be accepting any late work, so please get it all in to me soon.
The CRCT's are finally over and we are going to get back to business as usual. We will be working in Australia and Oceanna for the rest of the year, with a possible stop in working with personal finances. Hopefully the students will enjoy some of the oddities that make Australia unique.
Unfortunately, we have reached the end of the Latin American Unit. We will begin studying Canada next Monday, April 1 and then move into Australia and Oceanna when we return from Spring Break.
CRCT tests begin Wednesday, April 23rd.
There will be a quiz on Tuesday, 3/25, covering pages 19-24 in the notebook. These pages are the Modern Latin America section of the unit.
It is that time of the 9 weeks again. The mad scramble to get work in before ir is too late. Well, I will take late work, but only until Wednesday, 3/12. Good luck.
I have a large number of students missing assignment already this 9 weeks. Please check iParent, or students can look at their posted grades on my board, and start getting those missing assignments in to me for late grades. Any grade is better than a 0.
The classes are moving into a new unit. Latin America will be where we are going to spend the next 6 weeks or so. In order to look at Latin America's culture today, we need to start in the beginning with the Aztec and Ica civilizations.

We are finishing Europe at the end of this month. We will be having a test that covers modern Europe on February 1, 2008. Start preparing now with short studying sessions of the material we have covered since we got back from Christmas break. I gave out the modern_europe_study_guide.doc today to help you study.
I hope everyone had a great Winter Break. Mine was excellent, but I am happy to be back. In Social Studies, we will be discussing modern Europe until the end of the month. Then, we will begin the next region of the world that we study, and region is Latin America.

Students will be dismissed at 2:10 that week in order to meet with parents and guardians. Look for conference letters that will be coming home from your student's 3rd period teacher.
