K.L.U.B., which stands for Kids Loving and Understanding Books, is our reading incentive program! One of the state standards says that students will read 25 books in a school year. So we implemented K.L.U.B. as a way of encouraging and rewarding students for reading.
Students only have to read two books and write two summaries to become a member. The more books he/she reads, the higher the membership level and the more rewards and incentives received. The summary form can be downloaded below or you can click on the category, "NEW! K.L.U.B. Summary Online" to enter the information directly. The students may also pick up hard copies of the summary forms in the media center.
Attached you will find the powerpoint presentation we shared with 6th grade students during their Social Studies class. The 7th/8th grade presentation can be found under the category "K.L.U.B. Animations."
