Canada Test is on Tuesday, Jan. 31st-it is matching, multiple choice, true/false, and maybe one short answer
The study guide has been passed out (last friday)-we are checking it for a completion grade on Friday, Jan. 27 and will go over the answers. I will attach a blank study guide for those who would like an extra to study with. Download Canada Study Guide
There will be 3 help sessions for this test: 1/27 at 8:15-meet in the cafeteria, 1/30 at 4:30-5:15 in my room (you must have a ride home), and 1/31 at 8:15-meet in the cafeteria

No homework :) Monday is a school holiday for MLK day-think of it as a day on and not a day off-find a way to serve or help another in MLK's honor!
You know what is so great about the 3rd nine weeks? Yes, I told you I would challenge you more....But, many of the topics we will cover in the weeks to come, you have now been exposed to from our 2nd 9 weeks curriculum. We will review and enhance your knowledge of these topics, via Canada and Latin America!
Honor roll assembly is Tuesday, Jan. 17th!
Wednesday is the Practice Writing Assessment-you must have notebook paper, a pencil or two, and a pen (blue or black only)
Thursday is the Talent Show-DON'T MISS IT and support your peers-there are a lot of 6th graders performing and I can't wait to see you guys and girls!!! It will be a fabulous show!

Map quiz will be on Friday, so your homework is to study your map of Canada
You need to know the following:
Arctic, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans
Hudson Bay, the Great Lakes, and the St. Lawrence River
Candadian Rockies and the Canadian Shield
Bonus questions possibly-name the 5 great lakes--> Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, and Superior
Also know the difference between a territory and a province

Tonight go home and clean out your binder if you have not already done so. Go to the store and stock up paper, pencils, and pens for class!
Geo Bee went well today-the 6th grade SS teachers will meet tomorrow to determine who will be going to the grade level bee.
Report cards go home on Friday and there is NO school on Monday, Jan. 16 in honor of MLK!
