Meet Mrs. Mikhail!

Welcome everyone! My name is Mrs. Devin Mikhail and I will be teaching both Math 6 and Social Studies for the 6th grade this school year at Palmer Middle School. I am so excited to have you visit my new blog :) Please send feedback as to how I can make this site helpful for everyone. I want you to know that I am excited to be a part of your child's life and education and I take this honor very seriously. If you should ever have any questions or concerns for me; I will do my very best to assist you in any way that I can.

Here's a little bit of background on me...I recently got married this summer in June to my new husband, Karim Mikhail! Married life is great and I feel so blessed to have been given such an amazing gift. If you like, you can check out my wedding photos that I'll have posted in my classroom and if I get really high tech, I'll post some on this blog-hee hee. I am a charter member of Palmer Middle School and am excited to start my 7th year in 6th grade. I am originally from Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in education, focusing on math and reading education. I am also certified in Social Studies. I moved to Georgia seven years ago and have family in both East Texas and here in Marietta. My husband's family is in Lawrenceville, GA and Cairo, Egypt! His parents moved here from Egypt 30 years ago and have been here ever since! I have an 18 year old brother who will be attending Virginia Tech for his first semester of college this fall. Outside of our careers, Karim and I are very involved in our church, Second Ponce de Leon Baptist, where we are both members. We love to travel and spend time with family and friends as often as possible-we love to host dinner parties :) My friends seem to think I am Martha Stewart.... Some personal hobbies of mine are that I love to read, write in my journal, and dabble in amature photography. More to come....
