I enjoyed meeting all of the parents who attended open house! It was a great start to the year. Our Unit test on Geography of Georgia is scheduled for Wednesday August 31. Be sure to know the map component. AC classes also have a short essay on Georgia's transportion infrastructure due the same day (Wednesday). There was no written homework assignment due for Monday. Pinnacle is supposed to go live today-I may get quiz grades and word wall posters in today but it may be this weekend. Finally, I am allowing for "grade adjustment" (raising the grade) on this quiz if the result was below 80. I don't do this very often but the instructions are posted below. The essay instructions and the graphic organizer we worked on in class are also posted. I will provide a rubric on Monday. Be sure to bring the organizer back to class Monday. Have a great weekend.

Textbook contract was filled out, transportation graphic proganizer was completed by most students, AC students worked on rough draft of short essay (due WEd.), All classes saw two short videos on transportation.
I was glad to see several students taking advantage of the grade adjustment opportunity in both the AC and on level classes. Remember that we have a unit test this Wednesday in all classes. The Advanced content classes have the transportation essay which is also due on Wednesday. All classes have the tranportation graphic organizer also due Wednesday.
Tuesday August 30
AC Classes Answered review questions, and worked on their transportation essays which are due tomorrow. We also have a unit test tomorrow (Wednesday) on the geography of Georgia. Make sure you know your maps. There will not be a word bank on the maps for AC classes.
On level classes answered different unit review questions and worked on their transportation graphic organizers. 2nd period turned in their organizers today. 3rd period students need to finish it if they didn't do so in class and turn in Wednesday. On level classes also have a unit test Wednesday. Make sure you know the map work. FYI: Their will be word bank for the 35 items on the map.
