Thursday September 1
We started a new unit in all classes today. This unit will cover chapters 3-5 in the book and will include prehistoric Indains, the colonization of Georgia by Oglethorpe and the American Revolution.
Today all classes (AC and on level) took the unit pretest and all classes were assigned unit vocabulary. Students are required to complete any vocabulary terms that can be found in the textbook for homework. We will define the other terms (not in the text) in class Friday.
Friday Sept 2
AC classes started taking notes on prehistoric people using a graphic organizer. They also saw their unit 1 test grades which I will post as soon as possible. There is no written homework assignment over the long weekend.
On level classes completed a reading guide on barter economics. There is no written homework assignment for the weekend.

Tuesday Sept 6
AC classes continued note taking from Chapter 3 on prehistoric Indians.This should be finished by beginning of class tomorrow. The barter economy worksheet should also be completed by Wednesday. We will have a quiz on Friday on the unit vocabulary, prehistoric peoples and the economics of the barter system.
On level classes (2,3) watched a video on the southeastern indians today and continued note taking using their graphic organizer. We will have a quiz Friday on the unit vocabulary we have reviewed, prehistory, and the barter economics worksheet.
Wed Sept 7
All classes reviewed the notes on prehistory. Students need to complete the Transitions Organizer we started in class.
Thursday Sept 8
All classes have a quiz tomorrow on the Unit vocabulary, the prehistoric Indian notes, and the Barter worksheet. Students should prepare tonight.
AC classes began a Desoto poster project that is due the beginning of class Tuesday Sept 13th.
Wed Sept 14th
As you know I've been out sick and probably won't return until at least Friday. All (both AC and on level) students should complete their Cornell Notes. Please make sure you are bringing your SSR book to class every day. See you soon. Download Cornell Notes Founding of Georgia 2010 on level
Monday Sept 19
All classes participated in a partial review of the Cornell Notes on the founding of Georgia. This will conclude tomorrow. AC students should make sure the colonial maps are complete. These students (AC) will be responsible on the next test for the information on the map. The power point on the founding of Georgia has been posted. There is no written homework assignment for Tuesday.

Wednesday Sept 21
All classes worked in the computer lab today on the recruiting poster project. this document can be downloaded below. The poster is due by end of class Friday. Students will have access to the computers and class time Thursday and Friday.

Monday Sept 26
Students in all classes finished and printed their colonial recruiting posters today.
AC students worked on colonial plays which will be finished in class tomorrow and performed Wednesday. We will have a quiz Thursday/Friday on Savannah so students should continue to review their notes. Their was no written homework assignment.
2/3rd periods worked on colonial era math after printing. Math worksheets shoud be brought back to class Tuesday. There is no written homework assignment but students should review there notes nightly as we have a quiz scheduled for the end of the week.
Wednesday 9-28
AC classes worked on review questions going back to the first week of shcool. Then worked on colonial plays which are to be performed Thursday. We have a quiz scheduled for Friday on the exploration and colonization of Georgia.
On level classes answered review questions and completed their math in the social studies assignment. We have a quiz scheduled for Friday on the exploration and colonization of Georgia.
